had my oral presentation today! was sooooooo nervous that i was uttering nonsense out there. grammer, tenses and pronunciation were all messed up. bloody hell. nvm.. just glad that its all over. oh man! I can watch "Stairway To Heaven" today! yeah! last 2nd episode.. that male lead just gorgeous man. mum is addicted to this show too.. haha.
right. i wanna talk about the issue between taiwan n singapore now. i saw the speech made by a taiwanese guy on cable during the wkends for a variety show.
DID U KNOW THAT WE WERE CALLED "LP" (MALE TESTICLES) IN HOKKIEN? THAT WE ARE JUST "NOSE DIRT" TO THEM? HOW DARE THEY CALL US NAMES?! THATS SO BLOODY RUDE AND VULGAR! WHAT KINDDA CIVILISED COUNTRY IS THAT? MY BLOOD IS BOILING MAN.. FELT LIKE SLAPPING THAT GUY IN THE FACE WHEN I WAS WATCHING HIM SPOUTTING CRAP. HE EVEN SAY THAT THEY WERE KIND ENOUGH TO LEND US THEIR TRAINING BASE FOR OUR NSF MEN YEARS AGO. THAT WE ARE UNGRATEFUL! BLOODY HELL.
to think that we were still on close terms with them before.. just becos their issue with china was brought up by one of our pple. (i can't rem who. not sure of the whole story but my dad told me a little about it.) that they shouldn't start a war with china becos it will affect e economy and the countries in asia. they start scolding us. they even start a protest against us and burned out flag! what the fuck! and from what i know, singaporeans didnt fight back at all. and i mean verbally. one of our ministers just said:"we're disppointed". (summarised version but thats the idea) UGH. one might say that we don't wanna make things worse. but what will the taiwanese think of us? that we are cowardly and can be tramp on anyday? huh. we are brought up so conservatively and controlled by the government that one will not see any pple protesting about it. im not saying that we shld create riots. one shld have retort and take back our dignity. that said, im utterly pissed and disappointed in how we handled this case. there might be more accurate information to this story.. pls tell me more about it. comments pple.

Singapore is definitely right in saying that if a war breaks out between China and Taiwan just because Taiwan wants independence, then Taiwan must bear the full responsibility. The UN does not recognise Taiwan as an independent nation, but only a province of China. Therefore, if they want independence, it is tantamount to a rebellion. And Taiwan must bear full responsibility for their own action if no one wants to help them during such a war.
I like your patriotism towards the Singapore-Taiwan issue. The Taiwanese parliament is well known for their uncouth behaviour. They just like to fight, and I mean physically fight, during their parliament meeting. So it is not surprising that they can sprout such nonsense. It is definitely their style. But our govt is doing the right thing by commenting that we are disappointed. This is a very classy response. If you start to abuse them back and start a verbal war, it makes us no different from them. And worse, the international community will just sit back and have a wonderful show. Makes us look bad and uncultured, you know. Our govt is simply way above the Taiwanese in handling international affairs. This has always been our style and all other more civilised countries can see this and has respected us more for it.
And it's a load of bullshit when they said they lend us their land for training. We do pay them. And they needed our money badly way back in the 70s when they are just a struggling nation still under martial law under the kuomingtang govt. Furthermore, when our soldiers go there for training, we spend alot of Sing dollars there, helping to boost their economy. Just ask any old timer who've been to Taiwan in the 70s and 80s about the exchange rate between the Sing dollars and the Taiwanese NT$. The Taiwanses people love our currency back then. So who is the ungrateful one?
Now you know why we don't need to shout and scold? Just let history do the talking. Real classy.
